So now that you need to keep constant checks on the thermostat with the furnace powered on, chances might be that your thermostat has warned you of a weak battery. Here’s how you replace it:

Take the thermostat housing off the wall plate. If it does not get off easily, try pulling it up so that it slides off the mounted wall plate. Turn the thermostat over and you’ll find the battery slot. Insert AAA or AA Lithium batteries as per the directions on the sticker note attached.
